This week Micro Macro had the pleasure of talking with Thai superstar, Toni Rakkaen. We discussed the development of his style, and much more.
Toni was born in Thailand, but his style story begins with his move to Melbourne Australia. He relocated to study for Secondary school and University. Unlike his school in Thailand the Australian school had no uniform. This freedom is what allowed Toni to explore and flourish with his sense of style. Expressing himself at school was the beginning of his journey to becoming a huge influencer in the fashion scene.
His style exploration began, like many of us, in Highschool. With skinny and distressed jeans and an emo hairstyle. Since that time he’s developed his sense of style and is now a streetstyle aficionado with a love for sneakers.
While in Melbourne he also began his career as a hairstylist. Toni has always seen hairstyle as an integral part of Fashion. He finished his education through University in Melbourne and came back to Thailand. In Thailand he worked mainly as a hairstylist until he was 'discovered' in his salon and and began working as a model. From there on one thing lead to another and with a lot of hard work he was able to pursue an acting career in addition to modeling.
Toni is a true Thai superstar with a career that spans across many platforms. He isn't limited to only modeling and acting. On social media he’s an influencer and co-founder of the new brand Smile Club Custom. With such a versatile career he’s been able to travel the world and even attend Seoul Fashion Week.
Currently Toni is excited to explore the new world of fashion. His current style obsession is the vintage Levi’s Ivy League look. He’s highly inspired by 50’s Americana and workwear. Even if he’s interested in specific styles and trends, Toni remains an individual. Making sure that his priority is to dress up and have fun. He doesn’t like to stick to a fixed style, giving himself plenty of room to explore and try new things.
